THE WORLD that we know with our senses is never
a static one. Widening golden lands ride with grasses, rough are the scrabbling tops of mountain peaks, crashing waves of
azure sea-waters and stagnant marshes and wayward isles have evolved and unfolded in the untold eons that life has thrived
on this planet.
As we today can smell, taste, hear, touch and see, so did our ancestors. The world before the end of the last ice age was
vastly different than today's. Megaflora and megafauna, vigorous climates, and healthier environs produced massive animals,
vibrant ecosystems and unusual climes.
The world was wild, and man was at a peak of his environmental awareness and civilization-building. Our ancestors in the continent
now known as Europe, The Eurodeans were of the root-races and blood, tongues and religions, that predate our own. These
ancient ancestors live in our subconscious, though at times we scarcely know it.
Eurodeans were larger, stronger and perceived the world in a wild and magical sense. Men were skilled hunters and fighters,
and were tested on their battle prowess even if they be merchants, craftsmen, shaman-priests or farmers. Women were no strangers
to the rough world around them and strong tribal units were needed to surpass the difficulties and novelties that the Gods
threw toward them.
This was a world filled with danger and promise, savage and wondrous animals and roving bands, great cities and sorcerers
of untold and strange rites. A time long ago, before the rising of the seas, when heroes strode the lands in search
of their destinies.
The world was young in the Age of Viro. This is his Saga.
